Meet the Board of Directors of 1Matters
As we are building a national organization we are expanding our local board and adding national directors to the board with global vision.
Our local directors include:
- Ken Leslie – Founder of 1Matters (Board President)
- Norma Leslie – Former Executive at Mercy Health Partners (Board Secretary)
- Dan Rogers – CEO of Cherry Street Mission (Board Vice President)
- Karen Soubeyrand – Real Estate Investor (Board Treasurer)
- Steve North – LifeLine Ministries
Our national directors include:
The first is Bob Merlis. Bob is John Mellencamp’s publicist and was the one to green light the Tent City trip that started this all, as well as propelling our follow up work with John. Besides being a great guy, he is a huge auto buff writing for many auto publications, on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame selection committee, owns a small record company, and loves Studebakers.
Next is Harry Sandler. As many of you know we met Harry working on the road with Mr. Mellencamp. Harry spent 40 years on the road with many of the biggest and smallest names in music including he Eagles, Van Halen, Jewel, Billy Joel, John Mellencamp, Stevie Nicks, Bruce Springsteen and Barbara Streisand. His hobby off and on, and now his profession, is photography. He too is someone who just gives a rip and is joining Bob and others to position 1Matters as something the recording industry can rally behind.
Last, but certainly not least, Majida Mourad is amazing. She is from Toledo, now living in Washington DC. Starting as an aide to Sonny Bono, she worked her way up and is now a partner in the Abraham Group, an energy consulting firm, along with former energy secretary Spencer Abraham. She is working to connect us to people who fly at the 100,000 foot level.
We are so blessed to assemble such great group of people who just plain give a rip about everyone, that every 1 Matters! Thank you Board for your time and commitment!
